liar - justine larbalestier
I am going to tell you exactly nothing about Liar, per the express orders of the author, the lovely (and rather fierce) Justine Larbalestier. Really. You'll thank me later.
But you should read it, even though I cannot tell you what it is about, or even what genre it is, precisely. If you only love intellectual angsty middle-aged middle-class white-guy literature, you will not like this book. In most other cases, you will. I guess. I know I loved it. And if that's not enough for you, so did (for instance) Carl Rigney and Stephanie Leary (neither of whom I know).
Go on, read it. And then report back to me so I can finally have people I can talk to about this book!
