journey into space - toby litt
I read Journey Into Space on holiday this summer, and what I mainly remember about it is the ending, which was very sad. But good. Litt is an acrobatic writer, he knows how to work with the pacing of a story, speeding up and slowing down to great effect. But I couldn't help but wish for some hope at the end... Which is good, of course, since that means he made me care for his fictional world which is also ours, or could be. Still, I don't think I'd recommend this book if you are looking for some light, happy holiday reading.
