ha’penny - jo walton
I loved Ha'penny, almost as much as I loved its predecessor, Farthing (a book that fell into the Big Hole of Not Blogging, sorry).
I'm a sucker for alternate history, and if it's Nazis come to Britain in a sort of Bridesheady/Jeeves world, I'm sold. Plus Jo Walton is a really good writer of light reading material - smooth, funny in places and quite poignant, producing a most convincing world and story. Highly recommended.
