I literally couldn't put this 'literary thriller' down, had to finish it. But then it left me with that unsatisfied fast-food feeling, like tearing through several brand-new, luxuriously-smelling glossy magazines, and feeling only blah afterwards.
Odd, that. It must have had something to do with the truly humongous amounts of wine swigged by the people in this story, coupled with their oh-so-hip-and-desperate lifestyles. The book was competent, well-plotted (I thought, not all of the girls in my book club agreed), not very realistic but a good beach read, I guess. Except for the sexy parts, those were just plain embarrassing. All in all: I don't know what to think of it. And the worst thing is that the writer sounds just like me...
