I am back to my old trusted buddy "typety-type and never mind that it's just talking to myself about what a fool I am to even attempt this". This usually leads to an insight or two about what it is I want to be doing, and often to snippets of dialogue between the people I know will be in the story. Though I don't quite know yet how they will meet and what they will be doing when they are having this (un-wicked, un-splendiferous) dialogue. Lots of whinging and moaning.
But also lots of words, and some progress, so probably good. And lots of grumbly feelings about people who actually know what they are doing and who are writing Actual Stories. Hrmpf. Not a happy camper day.
