A massive, relatively effortless push today to make up for not writing at all yesterday due to getting up very early and spending the whole day in a gym and then the night singing Sint Maarten songs and collecting candy in the cold. I needed a bath and a read after that.

But today: dialogue! Two discussions, neither of them very original and both of them rather sketchy, but this has ever been so since my first NaNo, and I think I have to let it run its course and accept that this is the way I work. Or 'work', let's not get too grand about it.

Jules asked tonight what the book was about this year, and I had to think about it for a bit. 'About a man who wants to paint his father's gazebo,' I said. 'And?' he said, no stranger to fiction. 'And there's a storm, and things go wrong,' I said. And he nodded. I think we're on the right track, plotwise!

& so to bed.
